Inter-Shul Football League Update

The only positive on a night when our unbeaten record came to an end, as Whitefield won 5-1, was that the Rabbi got to watch only his second ever game of football.  

Whitefield scored early on before Aron equalised, and most of the rest of the first half was fairly even, as both sides looked to add to the score.  

Yaakov hit the post with a great shot, and Aron and Ryan had chances, but two quick goals just before half-time gave Whitefield a grip on the game that they never let go of.  

What was disappointing was the referee allowing a lot of on-the-edge tackles, although he finally took action towards the end of the second half, with Whitefield briefly reduced to 5 men, as one of their players was sin-binned. By this… Read More »

Inter-Shul Football League Update

There was no game for us this week, as we enjoyed a break before our top-of-the table clash with Whitefield, which kicks off at 8pm on Sunday at Maccabi. 

Rumours that the Rabbi may be there to watch are as yet unconfirmed.

Inter-Shul Football League Update

Yossi signed off in style, ahead of a 6-month absence, as he claimed a hat-trick in a 4-2 win over Holy Law.

The two opening goals were identical as Ryan played a through-ball each time that took the defence out, and Yossi finished well from both to give us a 2-0 lead.

At this point we were creating the majority of the chances, with some good saves from their goalkeeper and a number of shots that were deflected but Holy Law were applying their own pressure, and from a loose ball in the middle of the pitch, they shot and halved the deficit.
