The Frankel-Wilson combination showed no signs of letting up, as two goals each led to a 4-2 win against Adas Yisroel.
In truth it should have been a far more comfortable night than it was. Sruli was his usual composed self in goal, and Darren and Gary led from the back, making intelligent runs to open up the game.
But some of the decision making and opportunities to score could have been executed better. When we pass the ball at the right time and in the right areas, we are a very good team, but we need to be doing more of this.
Yoni replaced Mordy in attack alongside Aron, and saw an opening goal controversially ruled out when the referee decided the ball had not crossed the line. Minutes later, however, Aron did score to see us leading 1-0 at half-time, despite Darren being sin-binned for pulling down an Adas Yisroel player.
Moments after the second half started an instinctive ball over the top from Yaakov gave Aron the freedom of the Adas Yisroel half, and he rounded the keeper to finish into an empty net from an acute angle.
Adas Yisroel did pull one back to give themselves hope but pressure from Yoni and Aron saw them give the ball away and Yaakov finished.
Gary was then sin-binned himself after an (illegal) slide tackle prevented an Adas Yisroel attack when through on goal.
There were further chances, not least a first-time volley from Yoni after an Aron cross, but, after Adas Yisroel had scored again, Yaakov's shot beat the goalkeeper to confirm the 3 points, and ultimately put the shine on a performance that still has plenty of room for improvement.
